Adam Gale Leads Eighteen Royal Canadian Army Cadets on a ten day hike in Iceland

Adam Gale, an Aerial Inspector, was selected to lead eighteen Royal Canadian Army Cadets and three adult staff from across Canada, through Iceland on August 21, 2012, to perform a rigorous International Expedition that would test their physical and mental limitations like no other challenge.

The itinerary included a self-sufficient and grueling 10-day hiking and mountain climbing expedition through Iceland’s southwestern region followed by three days of equally challenging mountain biking. Participants were required to ascend 1800 metres of altitude and higher (daily) through technical terrain, rivers, and mountains, each one carrying a rucksack upwards of 40 to 50 pounds.
